Niteo and Cognos have partnered to offer The Cognos Conversion Service (CCS). If you are standardizing on Cognos, you need to convert your existing BI applications to Cognos 8 or rebuild them. Rebuilding legacy applications can be expensive and time consuming. CCS provides you the tools and the Roadmap to quickly convert your existing Business Intelligence (BI) applications to Cognos BI thus providing a lower cost to standardize on Cognos in terms of time, effort and costs.
CCS provides you with the resources to convert from other BI platforms to Cognos 8 BI. Using these tools and following the proven Solutions Implementation Methodology (SIM) that was developed by Niteo and Cognos, you can enjoy the benefits and savings of standardization and access the powerful features of Cognos 8 BI while leveraging your existing investment in reports and business rules.
CCS includes:
- The Conversion Assessment Service - Estimate scope, costs and resources
- The Conversion Audit Service - An audit of your BI systems and architecture to allow for accurate scoping and early identification of issues. The audit enables creation of a detailed proposal and conversion project plan.
- The Conversion Implementation Service - The Conversion Implementation Services is a strategic, repeatable service that is adapted to your environment, usage and requirements. Utilizing the Conversion Implementation Roadmap, some elements are converted using a Lift and Shift approach where redundancy is eliminated but the core elements of the reports are converted unchanged. Other elements require a more detailed strategic Compress and Optimize conversion, where improvements using new technology in Cognos 8 BI are applied to improve their effectiveness. This hybrid approach delivers the most effective results and a greatly improved BI solution.
CCS enables customers to see dramatic decreases in costs including training, licenses, maintenance, and administration by reducing the number of applications involved. These services reduced the total number of reports at some clients by as much as 90 percent -- all while improving access to information and data quality.
